I’m married to Tony and have three adult children and three grandchildren.
I have been involved with the House Next Door since 2017, initially working behind the scenes to help get the House up and running. Before this, I worked at Massey University predominantly as a Process/Business Analyst for 19 years. In 2021 I left Massey and was appointed Office Manager/Administrator of the House Next Door. At the end of 2022, the previous HND Manager resigned, and I took up the management position.
My role includes being responsible for the day-to-day management of all Trust activities and programmes, oversight of our staff and volunteers as well as funding and reporting.
I really enjoy working for an organisation that has such a holistic approach to community health. The House Next Door provides me with the opportunity to support people spiritually, physically, mentally and relationally.
For me, being part of the Trust is not just a job, it’s a lifestyle, working together with a group of dedicated staff and volunteers to make a difference in our community.
I grew up in the mighty Waikato in a dairy-farming family near a small town called Morrinsville. After I finished school, I interned through Pathways College of Bible and Mission at a Christian Camp called Totara Springs.
After three years there, I moved to Palmerston North in 2019 to marry my husband Nevin who is the Pastor at Church on Vogel.
I have worked as an administrator for nine years now in various roles and am excited to use what I have learned over these years to support the amazing team here at the House Next Door.
I consider it a huge privilege to be involved in the House Next Door in supporting our local community to grow holistically in who God designed them to be.
I joined the House Next Door team in June 2024. On leaving high school, I worked at an Accounting Firm for 5 years as Administrator/Receptionist. In 2020, I completed an internship through Pathways College of Bible and Mission. After completing my diploma of Christian Ministry I was employed as the youth pastor at Crossroads Church. I was in this role for 3.5 years before taking on a Community Worker role at the House Next Door in 2024.
One of my main areas of focus is overseeing our After School and Holiday Programme. I help out with School Next Door, mentoring, Youth Groups and initiatives at Freyberg High and Roslyn school.
One of the key focuses of the House Next Door is to be a positive role model and to have a strong relational connection with those in the community. I especially have a passion for youth and enjoy getting to know people’s stories, working alongside them and helping wherever I can. I also appreciate the supportive environment and being part of a team that works hard and has heaps of fun.
I grew up in Auckland and, from 2014-2021, worked as a physiotherapist in a special needs school.
I started volunteering at the House Next Door shortly after moving to Palmerston North at the start of 2022. After a couple of months, I was offered a part-time job and certainly did not have to think twice about saying yes! I have found this to be a beautiful, encouraging, exciting, supportive, and healthy environment. More than that, I have been given the privilege of using my gifts and expertise in this place, to support other people, and to help them grow and know more of the life and love God offers us.
My role includes oversight of the Ladies Exercise Class as well as the 55+ Strength and Balance classes. Like all the employees, I help out at the after school and holiday programmes as well as with mentoring, youth groups, and supporting youth with their education.
It is a real delight and honour to be involved in the House Next Door community and the positive change that is happening in so many lives.
I am married to Amy and we have one daughter.
I became involved in the House Next Door in 2015 through an internship programme with Pathways College of Bible and Mission. After interning, I worked at Massey University for four years. Over this time, I continued to volunteer at The House Next Door and my passion for the work they do in the Roslyn community continued to grow. I found myself wanting to spend more and more time helping out at The House Next Door so in 2021 when I was offered a paid position as a Community Worker I left my job at Massey.
I enjoy working with such a close-knit team of workers and volunteers.
My role includes mentoring young boys and teenagers, as well as helping out at after school and holiday programme. I also oversee our intermediate and high school youth groups and enjoy the opportunity to talk with them about God.
I particularly enjoy seeing those we work with make positive changes in their lives. It is exciting to see youth grow in their engagement and confidence as they become part of our House Next Door community.
I was born in Takapuna, New Zealand but grew up in Kyrgyzstan, Central Asia. I moved there with my parents when I was 8 years old. While in Kyrgyzstan, I attended an international school before studying at a Word of Life Bible College in Hungary.
I moved to Palmerston North in 2021 to study Sports Management at Massey University where I attended Church on Vogel and began volunteering at the House Next Door. In 2023 I was offered employment as a Community Worker and jumped at the opportunity.
I love the outdoors; gardening, going to the beach, biking, hiking, and camping. I also like watching and playing football but am also keen on other sports.
I really enjoy serving my community in such a meaningful way, building lasting relationships, and having heaps of fun. I believe it’s important to put others first and the House Next Door is a place where I can do just that in a friendly, caring, and accepting environment.
