This class is targeted at people 55 years or older who want to improve their strength and balance or would like to be more socially active.  It is accredited with Live Stronger for Longer which is an ACC approved Strength and Balance programme. 

Prior to starting, an initial one-on-one personalised session is required with our instructor where health history is assessed, baseline measures are taken and goals are set. These sessions take around an hour and provide an opportunity for you to ask questions.

The class begins with a guided warm-up then moves into strength training, consisting of a combination of seated and standing leg exercises. There is also a balance component which includes a variety of exercises to improve stability and reduce the risk of falls.

After class, people are welcome to stay for a cuppa and chat.
