Adrian Graham (AJ)
Chair

I am a husband to Irene and father to 6 adult children.

I have been involved in the agricultural sector most of my working life and am currently operating my own contract fencing business.

I am currently a trustee on the New Zealand board of Barnabas Aid.

I have been involved with Church on Vogel (CoV) for a number of years and previously held a Senior Leadership position as an Elder. In 2021 I became a trustee for the HND Community Trust because I believe this organisation can affect positive change in the community of Roslyn which is something I am keen to be a part of.

Andrew Mitchell
Trustee

I am married to Sonja and have 6 adult children and 11 grandchildren.

I have a Bachelor of Business Studies majoring in Marketing from Victoria University.

In 1994 I set up a Firewood retail business which I owned for 23 years, employing up to 6 staff.

I helped establish the HND Community Trust in 2015 while a Pastor at Church on Vogel. I was Manager of the Trust from its inception to 2022.

In 2023 I took up a new role as Lead Pastor of Napier Baptist Church and remain as a Trustee to help establish the House Next Door as an effective model of community health that can be transferred to other communities in Aotearoa. The House Next Door continues to have a significant impact in the community.

JC Marais
Treasurer

I am married to Anna and have two adult sons.

I have had more than 30 years of experience in accountancy and operations management working across different business sectors in South Africa.

I moved to New Zealand with my family in 2019 and am currently the Finance and Operations Manager for an organisation serving the churches in the Open Brethren Heritage movement.

Since moving to Palmerston North, Anna and I have attended Church on Vogel and in 2022 I took over the finance portfolio for the HND Community Trust.  I see the Trust as an effective way for the local church to impact the Roslyn Community.

Richard Print
Trustee

I have been married to Grace for over 60 years and have lived all my life in or near Palmerston North.

On leaving Palmerston North Boys High School I worked in the Public Trust Office while qualifying as a Chartered Accountant. I then joined a leading accounting firm in the city and practiced in public accounting for 55 years.

I have been a Trustee on several Boards whose focus has been to help people in the suburb of Roslyn, Palmerston North as well as national Trusts, and Trusts that have been associated with developing nations.

Being part of the HND Community Trust enables me to continue to make a tangible contribution to the Roslyn community and wider Palmerston North city. Over the years I have been involved in various community activities around youth and families and see this as another way of furthering this.

Leigh Chard
HND Manager

I am married to Tony, have three adult children and three grandchildren.

I worked at Massey University for 19 years, primarily as a Business Analyst and have been involved with the House Next Door in a voluntary capacity for a number of years. In July 2021 I was employed by the Trust, taking up the role of Manager at the beginning of 2023.

I keep the Trustees up to date on the many different programmes, activities and initiatives that the Trust is involved in and am accountable to the Trustees for the overall direction and running of the organisation.  I am passionate about the holistic approach the HND Community Trust has to community health.

I enjoy being on a Trust that is active in supporting a wide range of people within our local community as well as working with many other community-based organisations in the city.
